Welcome to the Spooner website!

Back in the late seventies, I worked at Lake St. Station, an independent record shop in Madison, WI. It was during that time that I became aware of a  local band with a growing reputation for tearing it up live. The group was writing and performing it's own melodic and beat-oriented Pop/Rock tunes, and word-of-mouth was attracting large dance-crazed crowds. I went to my first Spooner concert and was so impressed I approached the band about becoming their manager, a position I held from 1978 to 1983.

Over the course of the next few years I grew to know the band members personally, as they became one of the top acts in the Midwest, with a growing national following. To this day I remain impressed by their talent, dedication to music and most importantly, the good people that they all are and continue to be.

I hope you enjoy the archive of Spooner history. I have plans to add more material to this site, and invite anyone with memorabilia to share to contact me.
